Rhodochrosite

Rhodochrosite has been found in numerous locations around the globe, from Peru to China and South Africa to Colorado. None of it is quite so striking and sought after as the material from the Sweet Home Mine in Alma, Colorado. That mine was closed for good in the fall of 2004.

I managed to acquire a few nice specimens directly from the mine and have put some pictures below.
