🍁 Homemade Maple Mint Candy Recipe

This simple, healthy recipe uses only pure maple syrup and natural mint to create melt-in-your-mouth candies with no refined sugar or additives.

🧴 Ingredients

  • 1 cup pure maple syrup (Grade A dark or amber preferred)
  • 2–3 tablespoons fresh mint leaves, finely chopped or ½ teaspoon mint extract (alcohol-free preferred)

🍳 Equipment

  • Candy thermometer
  • Small saucepan (heavy-bottomed preferred)
  • Silicone candy mold or parchment-lined tray
  • Small whisk or spatula

🔥 Instructions

  1. Infuse the mint (if using fresh leaves):
Gently heat the maple syrup over medium-low heat with the chopped mint leaves. Let it simmer for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then strain out the mint.
  2. Boil to hard crack stage:
Raise heat to medium. Clip a candy thermometer to the side. Boil without stirring until syrup reaches 300°F (149°C).
  3. Add extract (if not using leaves):
Remove from heat and stir in mint extract if using.
  4. Pour into molds:
Pour hot syrup into molds or onto parchment paper in rounds.
  5. Cool and set:
Let harden for 20–30 minutes. Pop from molds or break into shards.

🍬 Storage

Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 2 months. Use parchment or cornstarch between layers to avoid sticking.

Tip: For a creamier maple sugar texture, stir syrup vigorously at 200°F before pouring.
